Case Study: Healthcare

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MEDICAL CENTER

Intranet Design

Challenge: How to show medical practitioners across the organization all the information they need and want in an uncluttered and easy to use platform.

PROBLEM

The University of Michigan's Medical Center – composed of multiple hospitals, schools and departments, had each design and manage their unit's intranet. The results were a hodgepodge of confusing sites with poor functionality and little use.

SOLUTION

Using a Hub and Spoke framework, we proposed a responsive design to address the University of Michigan Medical Center's requirements while providing a clear, logical, and unified visual language for its various units and their distinct functional objectives. their multiple needs. The work comprised the full spectrum of UX, including User Research, Persona Development, Task Analysis, crafting of User Flows and information Architecture.

RATIONALE

The Templates created standardize text and image components, providing a uniform, responsive interface for all divisions and departments within Michigan Medicine and making their internal systems available and fully functional in all viewports.
